La Sociedad Argentina de Administración Hospitalaria –tal fue el primer nombre con la que se denominó- fue creada en el año 1972 por un grupo de médicos provenientes del Primer Curso de Organización y Administración Hospitalaria de la Asociación de Médicos Municipales de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y otros que se sumaron por invitación especial.
