Historia Clínica Digital en Europa

El Proyecto epSOS (european patients Smart Open Services) para generalizar la historia clínica digital (HCD) en Europa, pretende unificar para todos los europeos el historial de salud, de forma que, por ejemplo, los pacientes puedan acceder en el extranjero a medicamentos que hayan olvidado, agotado o perdido o puedan comunicar detalles sobre su estado de salud a profesionales sanitarios que desconozcan su lengua.

Coordina el proyecto la asociación sueca de autoridades locales y regionales, y participan Alemania, Austria, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Eslovaquia, España, Francia, Grecia, Italia, Holanda, Suecia, Reino Unido y la República Checa.

Los expertos españoles (del Ministerio de Sanidad y las Comunidades de Andalucía, Cataluña y Castilla La Mancha) liderarán tres grupos de trabajo: el que definirá los datos esenciales que se incluirán en la historia clínica resumida, el de receta electrónica y el que definirá las condiciones que deben reunir los lugares donde se pruebe el proyecto.

¿Cuándo? ¿a qué coste?…

El coste del proyecto es de 23 millones de euros, sin tener en cuenta (imagino) todos los cambios organizativos en hospitales y centros de salud que puede suponer. Y la duración es de 3 años.

Otros proyectos

Podemos crear nuestra historia en internet con los servicios que ofrecen Google Health (en fase beta) y HealthVault (de Microsoft), aunque a mí esto no me ofrece ninguna garantía. Además, ambos están en inglés. Y este es uno de los retos del proyecto epSOS: debe ser reconocible por los médicos de todos los países de la UE.
